Mr Richard Shay awarded medal for the best results in the LLM degree in the Law Faculty for 2012

During the graduation ceremony of 11 March 2013 it was announced that Mr Richard Shay was awarded the medal for the best results in the LLM degree in the Law Faculty for 2012, based on the high marks (average 83%) he was awarded by the two examiners (both external) of his LLM thesis, entitled Users’ Entitlements under the Fair Dealing Exceptions to Copyright. Mr Shay completed the thesis under the auspices of the SARCPL (supervisor Prof AJ van der Walt, co-supervisor Prof O Dean), where he was a full-time LLM candidate and research intern during 2012-2013. He received the degree cum laude. Mr Shay is currently a lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law at Unisa, where he is involved in various IP courses and working towards his LLD degree. He will receive the medal and an accompanying certificate at the Rector’s Prestige Dinner in September or October 2013.
