Professor Brendan Edgeworth of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Law School visited and presented challenging and intellectually stimulating seminars at the SARCPL during June. Topics under discussion included the harmonisation of the recognition of Australian native land titles in the context of a rigid common law system; and the possibility of introducing new legislation to remedy unfair situations that result from adverse possession and various common law doctrines.

Professor Edgeworth has been a member of the academic staff at the UNSW Law School since 1989 and was Head of the Law School until recently. His research interests include housing law and property law; legal history; and law and social theory.
